Red and near-infrared light needs to penetrate the skin to reach muscles and tissues below. Thin layers of clothing can significantly reduce absorption, weakening the therapy’s benefits. Using the belt over clothing may still provide some warmth or mild comfort, but it won’t deliver the deep tissue relief or anti-inflammatory results red light is designed to achieve. For best outcomes, always use it on clean, exposed skin.
